Visiting the museum is a fun and educational field trip! Come explore our newest exhibit Connecticut Forests, stroll around 1940’s Main Street Manchester, experience 19th Century Manchester Farm Life, or visit some of the wild and domestic animals housed in our Animal Room. Book your group visit in advance and chaperones will be admitted free with groups of ten or more children.
Self-Guided Tour
Enjoy unlimited fun at the museum! At the cost of general admission, students can play, learn, and discover everything we have to offer at the Lutz Children’s Museum. Explore downtown 1950’s Manchester, have lunch on the playground, and take an up close look at native and domesticated animals.
Self-Guided tours are welcome during any hours of operation. While a reservation is not required, we recommend calling or emailing the museum prior to your desired visitation date. Family Library passes cannot be used to cover admission costs for a self-guided fieldtrip.
Educational Programming
The LCM offers exceptional educational programs structured to supplement current school curriculum. We offer select programs focusing on art, history, and natural science for ages 2-10. Please view our most recent Teacher Newsletters to review our current programs. In between classes, students are free to explore the museum exhibits, play, and build new friendships. Looking to get the kids outside to explore a local nature preserve? We can do that too! Any current program is available to be taught at the Oak Grove Nature Center at no additional cost. Please visit the Oak Grove Nature Center Page for more information.
The cost of each attending person for a fieldtrip with educational programming is $15.
Reservations are required for an educational fieldtrip. Please, call or email the museum far in advance to schedule your desired visitation date. There is a 13 student minimum required for an educational fieldtrip to be booked.
